Abrolhos - Ilha Redonda

The name "Ilha Redonda" means "Circular Island". The Frigate Birds builds its nests on clumps of grass. In December 1996 the island suffered a fire that killed more than 40 adult frigatebirds, hundreds of chicks and countless eggs. The population took more than ten years to recover.
